Autonomous transportation systems are complex and comprised of many sub-systems that must work together seamlessly. Simulation unlocks the ability for software and algorithm developers to quickly test scenarios without hardware in a fast, repeatable way. It's cheap, it's scalable, it's accurate, it's reliable. At Canvas, we make extensive use of a simulator to simplify development, improve accuracy, and ensure good test coverage. It also gives the ability to develop for deployments before we attempt them - multiple autonomous carts, large warehouses, or outdoors.
