A Socratic Seminar on: Demographics, Technology, and Social Impact in Boulder
Limited Capacity seats available

A Socratic seminar style discussion.
Though Boulder itself is a leading competitor in the tech arena, not all of its citizens can say the same. Plenty of demographics are isolated from the benefits of advancing technologies, whether that be due to language barriers, economic barriers, or otherwise. Many city planners and community organizers (like Code For Boulder) are focusing on this very issue in Boulder, and it would be interesting to see what common threads could be exposed through a forum like this.

Prototyping the Future of Boulder + Demo Happy Hour
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Do you want to prototype the future of Boulder with local community leaders during Boulder Startup Week? Are you hungry to work across sectors, connecting with some of Boulder's leading innovators? Do you want to gain clarity on your mission, who you're serving, and and how to transform challenge into opportunity?
Impact Hub Boulder and Boulder.Earth are committed to helping create an innovative and inclusive future with the City of Boulder around Climate Action and this is the event to learn about our progress and to share input!
Come to the Prototyping for Social Impact Workshop + Demo Happy Hour event at Boulder Startup Week featuring: Communities for Change!
This prototyping workshop will give you the tools too:
  1. Learn about current prototypes being created around the theme of Climate Action from Communities for Change participants.
  2. Apply prototyping tools to a project you're passionate about.
  3. Build something your audience can interact with.
  4. Build a prototype in less than 1 hour.
  5. Let go of perfectionism!
We will integrate the prototypes generated in the workshop with the prototypes that local innovators participating in the Communities for Change Climate Action Incubator program have been working on over the last 3 months. We will also be collaborating with Boulder.Earth to make sure that these stories are captured and shared with the ever-expanding community of people passionate about creating impact here in Boulder (and beyond).
Additionally, we will explore possibilities for future collaboration between the initiatives that folks at the Hub will be shepherding into the future, with potential for individuals attending the event to join the teams working on these new social + environmental change prototypes.
Plus: booze, snacks and a chance to co-create the future we want to see in Boulder. What more could you want?
--
The Communities for Change Climate Action Incubator Program is a year-long social change course and incubator that brings together diverse stakeholders across sectors and social divides to build collaborative solutions to local challenges. Our first program is focused on taking community-wide action to co-create a more climate resilient and inclusive Boulder. Participants in our program are currently co-creating prototypes focused on: Creating an 'Innovation District' in Boulder, Affordable Housing, Community Organizing, Serving and Empowering Boulder's Underserved Community, and model neighborhood completely aligned with the full-systems innovations necessary to reverse climate change. Learn more about the program and how you can get involved now!
Boulder.Earth is an innovative online portal that fosters collaboration and connectivity for an increased impact on climate change here in Boulder by aggregating the hundreds of different organizations, events, and ways to take action in a "one-stop-shop" style site. The goal of this dynamic, grassroots site is to highlight Boulder’s robust eco-social-justice community in a chance to see our diverse, collective work highlighted in one place, held under one roof. Artists, activists, scientists, entrepreneurs, faith groups, on and on. Visit the website and learn more here.
